Frances Payne

“Inspired by folklore and the natural world to which these stories are tethered, I work with various forms of printmaking in an illustrative and detailed style. Pieces act as story snapshots or catalysts, referencing personal relationships with stories and their ‘precious-ness’.”

Frances has been exhibiting in both solo and group shows since 2004, with work held in collections worldwide. Embracing both informal and formal studies in her arts practice, Frances graduated in 2016 with Merit from a Masters Degree in Creative Practice from Harrogate College of Art. She is passionate about the arts as both essential and valuable to a balanced education, sustainable economies and healthy societies. Frances is a qualified and experienced teacher and arts facilitator. Currently living and working in Perth, Western Australia, work is available to view in various exhibitions and galleries in both the UK and Australia.
