Shana James

I am a visual artist who has been working predominately in printmaking for the past 25 years. My work is narrative, telling stories in images with symbolic elements creating the sense of a mythological story or a fragment of unfolding events. These images are open ended metaphors which invite interpretation from the viewer.

Please see my website for more artwork and information or follow my blog - Ideas and Inspiration: for glimpses into my studio practice and other art related stories.

“[Shana’s artwork] seems to spring from both the imagination and the process of printmaking, their dense blacks a kind of dreamlike fog of ink and ideas of inner and outer worlds, the unconscious and the conscious and in that sense they act as illustrations for an autobiography that is constantly evolving.” Ted Snell
