Thank you for entering your art work in the PAWA Contemporary Print Media Award 2023. We look forward to receiving your submission and celebrating your talent.

Opening night isn’t too far way and there is still some work that PAWA needs your help with to make this event a success.

Please read through the following information regarding your submission to ensure that things run as smoothly as possible. Not following the details listed below may impact our ability to display your work.

Delivery of Artwork

All art works for the exhibition must be delivered to the Moores Building Contemporary Art Space, 46 Henry Street, Fremantle on Wednesday 19 April 2023 between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm.

Due to storage limitations, no additional artworks are to be left at the gallery

Opening Night

Opening night for the exhibition will be held on Saturday 22 April, 6-8pm.

The exhibition will be open for viewing on Saturday 22 April, 10-3pm, (however, no sales will be made prior to the awards presentation).

The PAWA Contemporary Print Media Award 2023 is not only an opportunity to exhibit your artwork but also and event to celebrate printmaking in Western Australia. Please feel free to bring a plate of finger food to the event to make this an even greater. Drinks will be provided for the exhibition by PAWA.

Presentation of Artwork

  • Framed - Prints that are framed must be framed to a professional standard and ready to be hung (i.e. D rings and picture cord – no wire please). The best placement for D rings is to attach them approximately 1/3 of the artwork height from the top of the frame. This ensures consistent display of artworks throughout the exhibition. The hanging committee has the right to refuse work with inadequate or unsafe hanging systems on the back of the work.
  • Unframed – Unframed works will be displayed using linen tape. The hanging committee will have linen tape available to achieve this, however if you elect to attach the linen tape yourself, please ensure an adequate length of tape to give the hanging committee enough material to display your work at its best.
  • Labelling - Prints must be clearly labelled at the back, bottom right corner with: Artist’s name; mobile number; title; medium; price.

Your Artwork (required information)

So that PAWA can create the exhibition catalogue, some additional details regarding your artwork are required. Please complete the registration details requested when you you select the Registration details button below. To allow us time to organise this information the details must be submitted to PAWA by Friday 7 April 2023. Delays may impact our ability to correctly describe your work in the exhibition catalogue.

Gallery Sitting Roster (required information)

After opening night on Saturday 22 April, the exhibition continues from 23 April to 7 May. An expectation of entry to the PAWA Contemporary Print Media Award 2023 is that you will make yourself available to gallery sit over the course of the exhibition. Only 2 people are required at a time and if everyone contributes it means that this responsibility is shared amongst as many people as possible. PAWA members as well as exhibition entrants will be involved with this to share the load.  The Moores Building Contemporary Art Space is open from 10.00am to 3.00pm every day and there will be a roster to ensure that the gallery is manned during gallery hours.

The time blocks that are available will be 10.00am – 12.30pm and 12.30pm – 3.00pm daily. Please include your availability time, days and dates with the information requested when you select the Registration button below. We will do our best to accommodate your availability. A roster will be sent to you once this has been finalised. If you need to amend your availability please let us know as soon as possible so that the roster can be updated.

I have also taken the opportunity to attach the Terms and Conditions for the PAWA Contemporary Print Media Award 2023 that includes all of the details related to the presentation and display of your work. Please review and take this information into consideration when preparing your work for the exhibition. These important details allow PAWA to display your work at its best.
