Tetra Pak Printmaking with Vanessa Lombardo

Join Vanessa to explore the use of Tetra Pak for printmaking. In this session you will learn how this re-use material can be turned into a plate using multiple mark making tools and be cut into any shape with scissors. You will ink up your plates for intaglio print making, use various wiping methods to encourage plate tone along with some relief rolling to enhance the image further.

Please bring the following to the session:

• Scissors 
• Pencils
• Etching Scribe (if you have one) and
• Old toothbrush for inking up 
• Printmaking paper (this doesn’t have to be expensive paper, it just needs to be non-textured 200gsm or more)

Note: A very limited number of scribes and toothbrushes are available, but there will not be enough for all, so please bring your own if you can. 

Materials provided :

• Tetra Pak 
• cutting mats
• scalpels
• Akua ink 

This hands-on session is a great opportunity to experiment with an accessible and sustainable printmaking process, while discovering the surprising possibilities of Tetra Pak as a printing plate. Whether you’re new to printmaking or have some experience, Vanessa will guide you through the process in a relaxed and supportive environment where you can connect with fellow printmakers and creatives.

Bring a plate to share and the drink of your choice if you would like to stay and be social. Some materials, tea and coffee will be available!
